Atkins Diet-
Robert C. Atkins, MD, promises that not only will you lose weight and not
be hungry on his low-carbohydrate diet. You will experience better heart
health and memory function, as well as other wellness benefits.
Dr. Atkins bases his diet on the theory that overweight people eat too many
carbohydrates. By drastically reducing carbs and eating more protein and fat,
our bodies naturally lose weight by burning stored body fat, which is called
Ketosis.
Carbohydrate Addicts
Diet-
The diet is based on the Hellers' own theories
about controlling fat-storing insulin in the body. And insulin, they claim, can
be controlled by drastically reducing carbohydrate consumption during most of
the day.
For the first two weeks, you eat two Complimentary Meals daily, consisting
of a portion (three to four ounces) of meat, fish, or fowl or two ounces of
cheese, and roughly two cups of vegetables or salad. The third meal is your
Reward Meal, which can be anything you want, in a balanced quantity .
Protien Power
The Eades were among the first to challenge the theory that low-fat,
high-carbohydrate diets were the final word on weight loss. They have
successfully challenged the idea that "fat makes you fat" (it
generally doesn't) and documented remarkable success in controlling high
cholesterol, blood pressure, and triglycerides with a diet that includes red
meat, eggs, cheese, real butter and other so-called "forbidden foods."
Sounds a lot like the Atkins Diet.
Suzanne Somers Diet
Suzanne tells how sugar, not fat, is responsible for weight
gain, and how combining food properly and eating a diet that is low in
carbohydrates and that includes plenty of natural fats and proteins will not
only help you lose weight but also can reprogram your metabolism, lower your
cholesterol and blood pressure, and give you more energy.
